Room 10's Film Festival Films

If you were not able to make it along to our film festival evenings, here is your chance to see the great Room 10 films that were shared. If you did come along but want to see them again, then you are in luck. Enjoy.

Cornwall Park

Just when you thought you had seen the last of Jurassic World films, ‘Cornwall Park’ delivers a film experience that will set a new bar for dinosaur thrillers. Written, directed and acted by the students of Room 10, this film portrays the bravery and resourcefulness of a group of children when faced with the raw fury of hungry Jurassic beasts. Warning, not for the faint hearted.

EPro8 Technology Challenge

An afternoon of Engineering, Problem Solving , Innovation and most of all COLLABORATION.
We all gathered in the hall excitedly to see stations loaded up with building materials, nuts, bolts, ropes and even battery packs and wires. Not knowing what was going to happen we started our challenge with a Growth Mindset. We Can Do This!!!

It all started with a quick briefing on the basics of using the materials. Our challenge was to construct a theme park ride prototype, which involved a balloon being propelled into the air by fans.

Sometimes it was hard to work together because we all had different ideas to try but we used all of the CPDS dispositions to help us work through the challenge together. It was particularly important to be reflective because we had to make some changes to our model for it to work better than before.

Have a look at some of the photos below of us getting stuck in and constructing our prototype.

Well Done Keira!

We have missed Keira this week in Room 10 as she has been ripping up the slopes at the North Island Primary Ski Champs, down on the Whakapapa Ski field.

Fortunately we have been sent a couple of videos of her in action.

We can't wait to hear how things have gone for you Keira. Room 10 and CPDS are so proud of you.

A ROYAL LETTER!!!!

Wow what fantastic news we had from MacKenzie today!
We will let her share all about it.

I got sent a letter from the Queen. I had sent her a card for her birthday. In it I told her about my family and my cat. I asked her some questions and drew a picture of her and me, which she said she thought was beautiful.

Not many people get sent letters from the Queen anymore so I am very lucky.
